CAT 926E Loader

(Before Micro Check). This oil analysis is from a CAT 926E Loader with 150 hours on the sample.  The engine on this loader has 27,690 hours on it and the sample is very poor.  The wear particle concentration is high.  The wear particle size range is 5 to 25 microns.  On the bottom left hand side of exhibit 1, notice the rubbing wear and the bearing wear.  On the bottom right hand side of the page notice the sand, dirt, oxidation products, and the black oxides.  Our filter was installed the day that this sample was taken.  The oil was changed at the time of the installation.

 NOTE:  After our filter was installed, the owner informed us that he had canceled a scheduled overhaul of this engine when he decided to buy our filter.  The local CAT dealer quoted the overhaul at over $15,000.00.  Our filter was installed on 9/30/96.  As of 10/1/99, that engine has not been overhauled.  This customer saved $15,000.00 and bought him 36 months (and counting) of continued operation.
